By accessing or using Chaptrly ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3. AI-Generated Content & Intellectual Property

Chaptrly uses artificial intelligence to help you generate book content, including outlines, chapters, reviews, and metadata. You retain ownership of the content you create using the Service, including AI-assisted output. However, you are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the quality and originality of any content before publication.

You acknowledge that AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection in all jurisdictions. We make no guarantees regarding the copyrightability of AI-generated output.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are provided only as required by applicable law.

5. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service.
• Use the Service to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may export your manuscript data before termination.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated content.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chaptrly and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
